    Social Media: What You Need to Know

    Social media is transforming communications, and with it, the venture capital industry. While many venture capitalists have invested in social media, there is still a lot of uncertainty about how firms themselves can best leverage this powerful communication tool.

    Even while the firms struggle with how to best use social media, venture capital staff members are increasingly being expected to manage Internet activities on behalf of their firms, including web sites, blogs, Facebook pages, Twitter accounts and LinkedIn profiles.

    In this informative session, we will discuss the current best practices in social media for venture capital and private equity firms, including:

    -- What are the leading social media tools and technologies available to promote and publicize firms?
    -- What are leading firms doing in social media?
    -- What are some of the pitfalls and practical concerns about social media that firms should be aware of?

    In addition to a presentation about these topics, you will have ample opportunity to share your experiences and learn what other firms are doing in this fast-changing area.

    Our Speaker

    Jon Greer, Managing Director of Jon Greer Consulting LLC, specializes in working with technology-oriented professional services firms, including venture capital and private equity firms, investment banks and law firms.     2) how your negative thinking patterns affect your mood;
    3) how certain behaviors and activities affect your mood;
    4) how certain social interactions affect your mood.

    You will gain tools to improve your mood and live a more meaningful life.

    IS YOUR SAVINGS ENOUGH FOR THE FUTURE?

    A recent survey* reports that an overwhelming 61% of employees in the U.S. are concerned about outliving their retirement money; and rightly so.  An incredibly huge wave of Baby-Boomers is going to live a very long time due to advances in modern medicine, but as they age there is a 50% chance they will require some sort of long term care such as in a nursing home or an assisted living facility.

    You may have seen this happen with an elderly family member who depleted their life-savings paying for some form of care due to Alzheimer’s disease or other impairment precluding independent living; not a pretty picture.  And with the national average cost of nursing home care at nearly $80,000 per year…and projected to triple in 20 years, what will you do to insure you can afford the quality care you and your family members deserve?

    Group Long Term Care (LTC) insurance helps protect life savings, preserve independence, and provides peace of mind.  Offering it to your employees makes great business sense because through group coverage the qualification process is simplified, the benefit is extended to spouses/parents/in-laws/siblings, it is funded by employees unless otherwise desired, and is less expensive than purchasing an individual policy.
